The Art House, Wyong

The Art House at 19-21 Margaret Street, Wyong is the Central Coast’s main professional performing arts venue. By its own account it opened in 2016, which makes 2026 its tenth year, and was named PAC Australia’s Performing Arts Centre of the Year in 2022. The venue is managed by an independent not-for-profit entity with its own board.

The venue’s stated purpose is to bring national and international touring work to the Coast so audiences no longer need to travel to Sydney or Newcastle; past performers it lists include Bangarra Dance Theatre, Opera Australia, Sydney Dance Company and Amy Shark. It also runs professional development programs for local artists.

From the venue’s what’s-on listing (read 4 August 2026): Wyong Musical Theatre Company’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical is on now, to 9 August. August is the year’s densest month here, with thirteen further dates: The Bugalugs Bum Thief (11 to 12 August), Cosentino (13 to 14 August), Worm Farming in the Studio (14 to 15 August), An Evening with Rodgers and Hammerstein (16 August, sold out), An Uncertain Time (18 to 20 August), Opera Australia’s Don Giovanni (22 August), Anh Do (25 August) and Vika and Linda (28 August) among them. Further out: Kate Ceberano (4 October) and two Guy Sebastian dates, 21 October and 6 December, both marked sold out. Graham Toomey’s “50 Years of Deadly” ran in the foyer exhibition space until 2 August.
Two listings currently carry a cancelled flag: Bruce Mathiske (20 September) and Michael Jackson: King of Pop (8 October). Check the venue before booking around either.
